The 3 Ds of Green Dot are options you can choose from to overcome your barriers and react when you see a harmful situation.

Reactive Green Dots

-Direct-

Do something yourself.

-Delegate-

Ask someone else to get involved.

-Distract-

Draw attention to defuse the situation

A proactive green dot is something you can do anytime to show that you do not support violence in your community. Examples of proactive green dots are wearing a Green Dot shirt around town or telling a friend about what Green Dot is. Even visiting this website to learn more is engaging in a proactive green dot.

Proactive Green Dots

Barriers are traits or other circumstances that make it hard to intervene in a potentially violent situation. These barriers can be things such as your relationship with either party involved, not wanting to make a scene, or even being worried for your own personal safety. Whatever your barriers might be, we hope that you can use the 3 Ds to find an intervention that is comfortable for you.
